The development of the Mansfield Station Precinct has received a huge boost, winning $7.7 million in federal funding, Independent Federal Member for Indi Helen Haines has announced.
“This is great news for Mansfield. The $7.7 million in funding will deliver an all-abilities playground, accessible changing facilities and bicycle pump track,” Dr Haines said.
“I was pleased to write a letter of support for this project and to advocate for it in my Indi Budget Submission.
“The precinct masterplan was developed in collaboration with community stakeholders and residents and I congratulate all involved.
“I look forward to seeing the precinct take shape and know the community will look forward to facilities that local families and visitors to the region can enjoy.”
The funding has been awarded under the federal regional Precincts and Partnerships Program.
The regional Precincts and Partnership Program stream two provides funding to build one or more elements of a precinct, including enabling infrastructure or to open spaces between elements or a particular building that activates other investment.
Mansfield has also recently been awarded funding under the Growing Regions Program, with $1.4 million awarded to Lord’s Pavillion upgrades.
“As an Independent, I am working hard for Mansfield to receive the investment it needs and that is showing results,” Dr Haines said.
“But this isn’t job done, I’m continuing to advocate for Mansfield, including for funding for the emergency services precinct.”
