I am devastated to learn of the death of Senator Linda White.
Senator White and I worked together as Chair and Deputy Chair of the Joint Committee overseeing the National Anti Corruption Committee and before that on the committee which examined and improved the legislation for the National Anti Corruption Commission. She was consultative, fair and principled and had so much more to give as a Senator.
Linda’s contribution to Australia spans many decades and across many sectors, particularly for women and in the union movement. There are many people who won’t realise just how much they have benefited from her tenacity and sense of justice.
I will remember her for her contribution to improving integrity in Australia and the way she approached the task as the first chair overseeing the National Anti Corruption Commission.
My thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues
