On November 30, 2020, I asked a question in the House calling for sufficient funding for rail precincts in Indi towns where Better Rail infrastructure works are required.
Since then, the federal government has announced an additional $5.5 billion dollars for this national rail freight project. That’s more than 50 per cent of the initial project budget.
So, today in Question Time, I asked the Deputy Prime Minister, Michael McCormack MP:
How much of this will be spent on increasing the budget for the Better Rail upgrades in Wangaratta, Glenrowan, Benalla and Euroa to deliver outcomes that meet community expectations?
