Stronger Communities Programme – Round 9

Expressions of Interest for the Stronger Communities Programme are now open!

The Stronger Communities Programme seeks to encourage and support participation in local projects, improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant and viable communities.  

Grants between $2,500 and $20,000 are available for projects that have a maximum project cost of $50,000. Eligible projects must be a small capital works or capital expenditure project that deliver social benefits to your community.  

Eligible organisations can apply for up to 100% of project costs, while local governing bodies can apply for up to 50% of project costs. 

Examples of eligible projects include: 

  • Upgrades, construction and fit-out of community spaces 
  • Acquisition and installation of energy efficient appliances or systems  
  • New or upgrades to disability access or amenities in public buildings or facilities 
  • Provision of women’s facilities at sporting grounds or buildings 
  • Construction or upgrades to child-friendly spaces or facilities  
  • Purchase and installation of first aid equipment, including first aid kits

Expressions of Interest must be received by 5pm on Thursday 13 February 2025.  

A committee of representatives from local government and community groups will assess the expressions of interest. Following this process, successful applications will then be invited to apply to the Department of Industry, Science and Resources for a grant.

You must use a computer, not a tablet or mobile phone. It is recommended that you write your expression of interest in a word document or email and copy and paste into the EOI form to save you losing any work.
